According to Ava Labs' official blog, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) announced that through a local technical service provider, it has anchored national academic certification data to the Avalanche C-Chain, officially establishing a national-level electronic certification system. The system has already placed over 15 million historical academic records on-chain, dating back as far as 1989, and certificates for nearly 1 million 2025 KCSE candidates are now issued exclusively through this platform. The system is expected to cover approximately 35 million verifiable records in the future, encompassing multiple education levels including primary school, secondary school, advanced diplomas, and government teacher certification. The new system significantly reduces verification turnaround time from the original weeks or even months to seconds, completely replacing old processes reliant on manual review and traditional databases, effectively preventing fraudulent activities such as certificate forgery and fake verification websites. KNEC CEO David Njengere stated that candidates can now securely access, download, and verify their KCSE certificates online without needing to rely solely on paper certificates.
